When 50% of our children are being bitten by a dog by the time they are 12 years old, and 77% of bites come from their family or a friend’s dog – that’s an opportunity for education that anyone who loves kids or dogs simply cannot ignore. They are staggering statistics and ones I want to help change – that’s why I present the Stop the 77 programs for 4 through 8 year olds at The Canine Country Club.
Children are, by far, the most common victims of dog bites, but studies show that educating kids on how to act around dogs significantly increases appropriate behavior. I’m committed to helping kids learn how to act around ALL of the dogs they see in their lives whether their families own one or not, and that’s why I’m offering the program through our business.
The I Speak Doggie program is designed especially for pre-K and kindergarten age kids. 4-6 years old. It is approximately an hour long, and is specifically designed for early learners.
The message is simple, fun, and based on a music video that will have the kids singing about dog safety long after they leave. It is a message that really sticks, and I’m thrilled to be able to offer it.
The Dog Stars program is designed especially for young elementary school-aged kids. 6 through 8 years old. It’s only 30-40 minutes long and is specifically designed for teaching great information for kids who love dogs. The message is upbeat, fun and is also based on a music video that will help teach the sign of when it is okay and NOT okay to approach a dog. A basic class on Dog Communication.
